Museum Collections - Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket

 

In this section the selection of photos made in Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket, Copenhagen are presented. Building of Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket  was build in 1897-1906 for a private collection of classical art of owners of breweries of Carl & Ottilia Jacobsen. Inside of the building is situated the winter garden, where palm trees and cactuses grow. Expositions of the Museum has antique, old Egyptian  and Babylon collections, the collection of paintings of French impressionists and much more.

Museum Collections - Thorvaldsens Museum

 

Thorvaldsens Museum was open in 1848. The building has been constructed specially for the museum and close to the Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. The collection of Thorvaldsen’s works, painting, antique subjects and statues from the private collection of the sculptor are presented.

Museum Collections - Moesgård Museum
 
Moesgård Museum is in 8 km from the southern part of Arhus. Here are original exhibits of the prehistoric time. Grauballe man (has been found in 1952 in the peat bog) is the most important  exhibit in this exposition. The great collection of the Museum includes Rune stones, weapon, ornaments and other subjects of Vikings.

Museum Collections - Lindholm Høje
 
Lindholm Høje is one of the most significant ancient monuments of Denmark. In VI-XII centuries there was a large settlement of Vikings. The extensive exposition about Lindholm Høje has been opened by the Historical Museum of Ålborg in 1992. It tells about the history of Denmark, the epoch of becoming of statehood, a daily life and death of Vikings. Original finds are presented together with reconstruction, panoramas, illustrations, cards and the texts giving as a general representation as an opportunity for more deep research. Near to the museum there is an original cemetery of Vikings.

Museum Collections - Museet Ribes Vikinger

The Viking Museum  in Ribe 
(Museet Ribes Vikinger) is beautifully situated in central Ribe overlooking the river of Ribe A. At the very location of the first Scandinavian town founded approximately in the year 700, the history of Ribe from the Viking Age through the Middle Ages down to the year 1700 is told. Approximately in the year 700, a market place is established along the banks of the river Ribe A. Thousands of archeoiogical finds from the excavations show how the vikings lived and traded with Europe.

Museum Collections - Silkeborg Museum
 
The building of Silkeborg Museum is the oldest one in the city. It was built in 1767 (from 1904 the Museum has been started here). In 1991 the Museum got the new annex.
The exhibition of Silkeborg Museum tells not only about the history of the city, but also about adjoining territory from prehistoric time to now. The special interest is represented with the detailed exposition, devoted to the Iron Age. The basic place of this exposition is Tollund Man (400 B.C.) and Woman from Elling (200 B.C.)

Museum Collections - The Rosenborg Castle
 
The Rosenborg Castle is situated in downtown the Danish capital Copenhagen. It was built in 1606 and served twice as a country residence of Danish monarchs. In the Christian IV times (1613-1634) the castle was rebuilt, some chambers and side buildings were attached to it. Some changes were added to the interior in the time of his successors. Since 1833 the castle is open to visitors and tourists (art collection, royal regalia and valuables are exhibited there).

Museum Collections - Egeskov Slot

Eveskov Castle
(Egeskov Slot) is situated at Fun island, in the central part of Denmark, and is one of the most beautiful European castlesfrom the Renaissance. It was built in 1554 close to the small lake. The interior of the castle has an old furniture and painting, and lot of hunting trophy as well.

Museum Collections - Danish Music Museum
Trace the history of music with a visit to Denmark's most comprehensive collection of instruments from all over the world at the Danish Music Museum, close by the gardens of Rosenborg Castle. The museum's evocative exhibitions provide a historic journey through the fascinating world of European musical instruments, with a special emphasis on the period from the Renaissance to the beginning of the 20th century. Музей Игрушек в Северной Зеландии (Nordsjællands Legetøjsmuseum) – это частный музей, расположившийся неподалеку от Хельсингёра. Здесь собрана обширная коллекция игрушек, которыми играли дети на протяжении многих веков - сотни кукол, детских игрушек, кукольная мебель и посуда, книги и бумажные платьица для кукол... Посетители могут окунуться в далекий мир детства и, возможно, встретить игрушки, с которыми они сами играли в детстве. Этот Музей Игрушек сравнительно молодой, поскольку впервые он распахнул свои двери для посетителей в 1997 году. Представленная в Музее коллекция - частная собственность и результат страстного увлечения Хильды Сванес (Hilda Svanes) старыми и антикварными игрушками.
