Danish cinema was a big winner at the 24th European Film Awards in Berlin on Saturday night, with Lars von Trier’s ‘Melancholia’ leading the way. It took home the top prize of best film along with awards for cinematography and production design.

It’s not mind control, but new technology out of Denmark comes close: Senseye is working on eye tracking software that lets your eyes control your phone.

Anti-euro sentiment has never been as high a new poll conducted by Megafon released today revealed. Some 65 percent of Danes are against adopting the single currency, while only 24 percent would cast a ballot in favour if a vote were held tomorrow.

The proposal created by Danish firm BIG architects is one of three shortlisted submissions for the St. Petersburg Pier International Design Competition (Florida, USA). The masterplan will organize and harmonize a variety of individual events along a network of paths, merging to form the iconic pier structure which will gradually flow into the waters of tampa bay.

On 7 December 2011 at 7.30 p.m. the exhibition “Danish Lace When Best” officially opened at The Pushkin State Museum (Prechistenka, 12/2). The impressive exhibition organized by the famous Tønder Museum is like travelling through the history of the lace industry of the Tønder area. On December 6, 2011 the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory’s Glazunov Hall hosts the concert entitled “J. S. Bach and Danish organ music.”  Bine Bryndorf, professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and Kristian Krogsøe, organist at the Århus Cathedral will perform the works of Bach, Buxtehude, Bruhns, Gade, and Nielsen.
