Denmark: History and Culture news

The Red Bloc won the Danish Parliamentary election which took place on 15 September 2011. In the Folketing election, the Red Alliance took 89 seats in the 179-seat parliament (50,3% of the popular vote). 86 seats (49,7% of the vote) were taken by the governing Liberal-Conservative coalition (Venstre). The 2011 election results mean that Helle Thorning-Schmidt, the Leader of the Social Democrats, born in 1966, is going to be the first female Prime Minister in Denmark’s political history.

Dear friends! From today onwards project "Dansk.Ru - History and Culture of Denmark", is back to work. Thank you for being with us all this time. We believe the work we do, is needed and useful, and we are happy to get back to work on the site. At the moment it is quite hard to announce a fixed schedule of the news publication. So, let us just say we will do it as news comes out. For sure, there is a lot of news collected, however the project team is much smaller than it is stated on the site. For this reason, we are asking everyone who is somehow connected with Denmark (studies, work, interests, etc.) and is willing to join the project, to contact us through the form in "Contacts" section.

Как мы уже сообщали прежде, нами ведутся работы по привлечению новых подписчиков в нашу группу ВКонтакте. В этой связи обновления на сайте были приостановлены, а в ближайшие пару недель мы планируем уйти в отпуск и вернуться к вам с новостями уже в сентябре. Последние обновления проекта были сделаны в разделе "Фотографии", который мы и приглашаем Вас посетить. Увидимся в сентябре!

Впервые в истории Дании в раввины рукоположена женщина. Ею стала 31-летняя Сандра Квиат (Sandra Kviat), окончившая престижный колледж "Лео Бек" в Лондоне. В этом году выпускницами колледжа были пять женщин и ни одного мужчины, - пишет fyens.dk со ссылкой на Kristeligt Dagblad. Само рукоположение состоялось в конце июня 2011 года в либеральной синагоге в Лондоне.

Museum of Contemporary Art KUNSTEN (Aalborg, Denmark) invites everyone to attend the opening ceremony of the new water sculpture of Jeppe Hein, to be held on Saturday, July 2 2011 at 14:00. "If there is no rain, it will be possible to approach the sculpture, while dry-foot" - promises KUNSTEN in it's information report, published on the Official site of the Museum. Jeppe Hein will be also at the opening ceremony.
