Dear Friends! The history of the 8th of March holiday goes hand in hand with Denmark. That is exactly where in 1910 in Copenhagen, at the International Socialist Women's Conference, Clara Zetkin proposed the establishment of an annual *International Women's Day, *which later became associated with the Anniversary of the protest staged by the New York's women working in clothing and textile factories 8 March 1857. Yet, in Denmark this day has not become a celebration of Spring, Femininity, and flowers as it has in Russia. Nevertheless, paying tribute to Dansk.Ru's team consisting only of women we would like to congratulate out translators as well as all our female readers on the 8th of March holiday! Wishing all of you love, flowers, and smiles!

Dear friends! From today onwards project "Dansk.Ru - History and Culture of Denmark", is back to work. Thank you for being with us all this time. We believe the work we do, is needed and useful, and we are happy to get back to work on the site. At the moment it is quite hard to announce a fixed schedule of the news publication. So, let us just say we will do it as news comes out. For sure, there is a lot of news collected, however the project team is much smaller than it is stated on the site. For this reason, we are asking everyone who is somehow connected with Denmark (studies, work, interests, etc.) and is willing to join the project, to contact us through the form in "Contacts" section.
