In this anniversary year Odense City Museums have decided to further focus on the history of the city and Fyn island, where is Odense located. May 14, 1860 in the newspapers "Fyens Avis" and "Fyens Stiftstidende" came the announcement of the formation of community to found a museum in Odense. July 19 of the same year the museum community has been created. One year later it was lead to the creation of the first museum in Odense, entitled Nordisk Museum.
