The Kingdom of Denmark is located to the north of Europe between Baltic and Northern seas, in territory 43 094 sq. km (not including Greenland and Faroe Islands, locate in the northern part of Atlantic Ocean).

The basic territory of Denmark is on Jutland peninsula, which is  adjoining with Germany during nearby 68 km. Other part of the country is presented by the Danish archipelago from 406 islands from which 78 are occupied.

In Denmark live nearby 5,5 million person, 93 % from them are Danes.

The largest cities of Denmark are Copenhagen (København, 1 million 360 thousand habitants), Arhus (Århus, 300 thousand habitants), Aalborg (Ålborg,  164 thousand habitants).

Population density is 127 people for 1 sq. km (according to data for January, 2005).

The population speaks in Danish language. There are a lot of dialects as well.
