Talking about the musical taste of Danes they are very varying. Classical music, Folklore, Jazz, Country, Rock, Heavy Metal, Reggae, Rap - all of these styles, are perhaps, equally popular among Danes and find their listeners. However it is possible to name Denmark as "the jazz country". Because if looking at festivals held in Denmark you can notice that a high percent among them is Jazz festivals. So, only in Jutland in June-August, 2009 have passed five festivals (in Silkeborg, Odense, Fredericia, Aarhus and Aalborg) where musicians played Jazz and Blues. One of such festivals is "Den Blaa Festival", held annually in the North of Jutland, in the Danish city of Aalborg."Den Blå Festival" is an international festival, not only Danish musicians take part in it, but musicians from every corner of the world. This year the Festival was from 10 till 16 August, and on its stages a lot of musicians played, among them were Danish, American and English. So, on Saturday, 15th August 2009, headliner of Tuborg-scene (blues) on the Toldbod Plads was "Tito and Tarantula", a band from Mexico, which greatest popularity was brought by the track "After Dark" in Quentin Tarantino's film "From dusk to dawn". Even changeable weather did not frighten listeners - despite an intermittent rain, public enjoyed music and beer on the city`s open areas, and it must be said that there was "hygge". Marina V.
