Halloween in Denmark

In Copenhagen Halloween usually is celebrated earlier than in other countries - from 9 till 18 October. So, during these dates a lot of fancy dress performances with the main character, huge pumpkin Jack, were taking place in Tivoli famous family amusement park. The Tivoli Gardens park has entertainments to fit children's taste.

Here you can take a merry-go-round with Mary Poppins, meet Kay and Gerda, play with Harlequin and Pierrot (characters of dell' arte Colombino comedy). However, The "Fairy Kingdom" becomes a sink of iniquity on Halloween's Eve. The main characters of the performance - Flying Witches with broomsticks, monsters with jack-o'-lanterns heads and skeletons - also take part in lots of performance and contests. Kids in costumes get sweets and roasted chestnuts. The celebration finishes with great firework.
