Last years' excavations have brought a new plentiful data about appearance of cities and reinforcements in the Danish state. Early cities of this epoch have been strengthened by banks and round fortresses have appeared in the different areas of Denmark. Early cities were the new phenomenon for the Viking Age. However their origin concerns to previous centuries, when first settlements were start (like Drengsted or Dankirke). More details
