Susanne Bier to do a film about Ingmar Bergman

Susanne Bier to do a television series and a feature film about the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman. The movie expects to have premiered in 2012. Film director Susanne Bier has been given the task of filmed four television division and a feature on the Swedish master director Ingmar Bergman's life. It writes ekstrabladet.dk.

It is the success of Swedish author Henning Mankell, who is married to Ingmar Bergman's daughter Eva, who is behind the screenplay.

The first two sections of the television series is already written and have been named after Bergman's films. The first section is called 'Frenzy' and the next is called 'Sawdust and?'.

- In a way, yesterday Bergmans life hand in hand with the development of cinema as an art form. When Bergman was born in 1918, there were only silent films. And when he died in 2007 had the technical development of film taken some giant leap, "says Henning Mankell for film magazine 'Variety'.

Mankell also explains that he was good friends with his father in law Ingmar Bergman.

- We always had some good long talks and I obviously things about Bergman that nobody else knows about. And they will never be published. But I think even that Bergman would have thought it is a good idea that it is me who writes the screenplay for the television series and movie about his life.

Susanne Bier to start shooting for the film plant in autumn 2011th. The film and Bergman's life expectancy will premiere in spring 2012, and the television series hits the Danish and Swedish television lounges at Christmas 2012 the same year. The whole project has a total budget of 60 million dollars.
