Denmark: Queen Margrethe II celebrates 70 anniversary |

Aprill 16, 2010 Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is celebrating her 70 anniversary. For this reason the Danish Artillery Regiment will salute by 27 shots from the historical bronze guns of Kronborg - the oldest artillery in the world, which still shoots. By tradition, fireworks will be given at 12:00 from the bastion of Kronborg Castle (the bastion will be open from 11.30 for visitors). The bronze cannons, which installed in Kronborg, were manufactured in Denmark in 1766-1769. Some of them took part in the three-year war of 1848-1850 years and during the famous marine battle 9th of May 1864.Before that on Tuesday, April 13 375 guests gathered in the Palace of Christiansborg to greet the Queen Margrethe II on the occasion of the her anniversary. In the musical program, which has been presented to visitors, the British singer Cliff Richard, Danish musician Kim Larsen, Danish comedian Rune Clan, frontman of the band 'Sort Sol' Steen Jorgensen and many others took part. |
