Кристен Кебке "Master of Light" - the so-called exhibition, which opened recently in London National Gallery and dedicated to the creativity of the great artist of the golden age of Danish painting Christen Koebke (1810-1848). For portraits, landscapes and interior scenes Kebke characterized accurate transmission of light, refined palette, clarity of composition, calm intonation. After two years of traveling in Italy in 1838-1840, the painter lived in the vicinity of Copenhagen, so the main themes of his paintings are sunny views of village gardens, the ancient castle of Frederiksborg, portraits of family and friends. Pictures for this exhibition were provided by museums in Denmark, and private collectors. The exhibition runs until June 13, 2010, after which the exhibition will move to Scotland and will be exhibited at the National Gallery of Scotland, from 4 July to 3 October 2010.
