Danish Film Festival: from Dreyer to the present day |

From 17 to 26 March 2011 in the cinema center "Rodina" (St. Petersburg) will take a place the "Danish Film Festival: from Dreyer to the present day". The main organizers of the festival are The Danish Cultural Institute in St. Petersburg and the International Festival Agency Tour de Film. The main event of the festival is showing masterpieces of "The Passion of Joan of Arc" and "Vampire" by Carl Theodor Dreyer. History of the Virgin of Orleans will be told to the accompaniment of Andrew Surotdinov, famous musician and violinist of the St. Petersburg "Aquarium" band. As part of the off-festival program at the club shop "Word order", Thomas Christensen, curator of the Danish Film Institute, will deliver a lecture on the works of Dreyer, a few decades, the former symbol of national cinema. Fans of the animated film will appreciate the program "Contemporary Danish animation" and listen to a lecture Søren Fleng, vice-chairman of the Danish Animation Society, the Danish Institute of Culture. Program of short films "The Danish National Film School presents" created by the famous alumni of the School, which finished Lars von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg, Christopher Bauer and others will introduce new names of Scandinavian cinema. |
