"From 2006 Music Museum is a part of the National Museum, and we have been dreaming for a long time about professional and creative musical partnership with the Danish Royal Conservatory of Music", - says the director of the Music Museum Lisbet Torp in her interview to Historie Online. She believes that common moving of Conservatory and Music Museum in the old Radio House positively affects to the dynamics of development of the Museum. In addition to the Conservatory of Music, the Museum will also have a good relations with Sjællands Symphony Orchestra, whose concerts in the winter season pass at the Conservatory. This opens up new opportunities for fruitful cooperation in order to make a valuable contribution to musical life at the regional, national and international levels. Moving of the Musical Museum and its follow activity in the building of Vilhelm Lauritzen at the Rosenørns Allé involves a complete redesign of the Museum. The future work will be done as soon as possible. Because of the moving from 1 December 2010 to autumn 2012 all collections of the Music Museum are closed to visitors. In 2012 the Music Museum will be opened again with the new permanent exhibition, including exhibitions for children and adolescents. In addition, will be extended opening hours and access for the disabled will be more easy and convenient. Thus, the Music Museum with its world-renowned collections, an extensive library and free internet access will become attractive cultural offer for anyone, who interested in music, regardless of age and education. Beginning in January 2011 Library and Archives of the Music Museum work every day. Database of Music Museum includes photographs of about 4500 musical instruments, information about their origin and creators and much more. Marina V.
