![]() The literary editor of newspaper”Berlingske Tiderne” prepared a big biography of Queen Margrethe II. Her Majesty contributed personally with stories about her nearly forty decade’s regency. One Saturday afternoon, in January 1972 Margrethe was proclaimed Queen from the balcony of Christiansborg. Forty-year anniversary of her regency was marked by the release of big biography ”M- Forty years on the throne”. The book was written by literary editor of newspaper “Berlingske Tiderne” Jens Andersen, and according to the publishing house Lindhardt & Ringhof it definitely has something of value. ”M”-is a kind of royal biography which Denmark has never seen before”, - says Lindhardt & Ringhof´s CEO, Lars Boesggaard. The organizing principal of the biography, which will be released on November 25, is a series of interviews primarily with the Queen, but also with Prince Consort, Crown Prince Frederik, Prince Joacim, Princess Benedikte and Queen of Norway Sonja. Moreover first time in history Jens Andersen got an access to the complete collection of Queen Margrethe’s manuscripts of speeches for all 40 years of her regency. It is not just New Year’s speeches, but also speeches given at anniversaries, gala awards, openings, and holidays and at least one hundred state visits during four decades of regency. The book is based on extensive research and on the interviews with former and current politicians, historians, artists, entrepreneurs, scientists and workers. The book is not just a portrait of the Queen, but also a chronicles of Danish history, Danish people and its relationship with the Royal House for the past 40 years. ” Over the four decades of the Queen Margrethe’s regency, there have been tremendous changes, including those initiated by the Royal House. When Her Majesty introduces as to her thoughts and plans for the last forty years, the way it is done in the book of Jens Andersen, and when along with her voice we hear other voices and opinions, - it becomes a whole narration about Danes and our common history since 1968”,- says Lars Boesgaard.
