Master class from Denmark

Ida Braendholt Lundgaard, Adviser at Herritage Agency of Denmark, will give a lecture and a master class at the All-Russian Professional Forum  "Museums and Children’s Culture: play, participate and pleasure" (St Petersburg, 23-27 November 2011).

 

The annual Festival organized by the St Petersburg Centre for Museum Development in co-operation with the Committee for Culture of the St Petersburg Government for the first time took place in St Petersburg in September, 2005.

 

The Russian Professional Forum is centered around educational and outreach museum programs targeted at children, young people and family visitors.

The Forum provides a platform for professional discussions, education, exchange of ideas and experiences, discussions about current professional standards and major development trends.

The Forum offers a balanced mix of three formats: a practically-oriented conference, a training program and a platform for debates and discussions.

 

Forum objectives: Promote the development of community based programs and projects positioning museums as an active socio-cultural institution promote the benefits of educational and socio-cultural partnerships and discuss and identify effective mechanisms for coordinating cooperation assist in overcoming professional isolation of the developers of museum programs for children and support enthusiasm and creativity, dialogue and exchange of ideas and experiences, professional development and learning about advanced international practices improve professional standards by establishing a framework for inspiring and stimulating professional exchange and training reinforce the authority and status of the museum professionals who work with children, champion and support their increased role in making important decisions about the museum activity.

• presentations of the best projects of the Russian museums
• interactive presentation of the programs developed by St Petersburg museums
• the final stage of the All-Russian Competition of Children’s Museum Programs
